| | Diploma theses take one of the following forms:
- Internal project. Students get involved in project of his or her supervisor, a DCE professor or researcher.
- External project in industry. Student finds a topic at a company either by himself or herself, or with assistance of the DCE staff. Formally, a DCE researcher is the supervisor who approves the diploma thesis topic and periodically acknowledges the progress and achieved results.
- Project at an Affiliated University. European students are allowed to accomoplish their theses at one of the official SpaceMaster Affiliated Universities. DCE strongly supports projects with Utah State and has very good experience with SJTU. The projects are supervised jointly with DCE.
