SpaceMaster is a Joint European Master Course in Space Science and Technology offered by the Department of Control Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague within the structured Master Program Cybernetics and Measurement.

Both EU and Non-EU students can apply.

  • If you are interested in Space Science and Technology
  • If you have a good Bachelor Degree Evaluation or you currently are a student in the 4th year of a non-structured engineering Diploma program and your grades are very good
  • If you want to spend the following semesters at top European universities
  • If you want to have an opportunity to do parts of your studies during SpaceMaster's second year at Stanford, Shanghai or Tokyo University with partial scholarship from EU
  • If you want a double European Masters Degree
Admission criteria's
Admission is subject to normal admission criteria for the European students. All students must have
  • a good quality Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Natural Science, Mathematics or equivalent qualifications. (Like Diploma Engineering studies in the forth year)
  • Students from non-English speaking countries are required to have passed TOEFL (average 580/239 or higher) or IELTS (ration 6,5 or higher)
  • an application for the coming academic year is to be submitted each April (or January 15 for Non-EU students).
The application includes
  1. a full CV
  2. a copy of Bachelor Diploma, a Bachelor Examination Certificate and a Diploma Supplement
  3. an English language certificate (TOEFL or IELTS)
  4. a Letter of Interest explaining why are you applying for Space Master
  5. one or two Letters of Recommendation (references) written by professors from your home university. The letters must include contact data of the professors such as phone number and e-mail). More detailed references including personal evaluation of the student are expected for Non-EU students.
  6. a photo (passport format)
  7. other documents to confirming prior praxis and experience of the student, in particular in space projects
All the copies of documents must be officially certified and accuracy of their translation to English must be legally approved. Originals will not be necessary until the final matriculation at the university.

Structure of SpaceMaster
SpaceMaster is a four semesters Master Course, 120 ECTS. The first year is common for all students.
The students will get cross-disciplinary extension from concrete situations such as balloon, rocket, satellite and radar control, tele-robotics, sensor data fusion, automatic control and multi-body dynamics.
The Course leads to two officially recognized M.Sc. degrees issued by the home and one partner university.
  • Semester 1: Introductory space related modules at JMUW/Germany in close collaboration with European Space Industry
  • Semester 2: Space related modules at Kiruna Space Campus/Sweden
  • Semester 3: Engineering/Science specialization at CVUT in the Cybernetics and Measurements study branch.
  • Semester 4: Masters Thesis administrated by academics from minimum two universities
Tuition fees for SpaceMaster
EU-students do not pay tuition fees.
Non-EU student's tuition fees will be 5000 Euros for the first year and 5000 Euros for the Second year. Non-EU students may apply for SpaceMaster Scholarship from Erasmus Mundus funds.
